ice jellies 02/25/2010

A few days after the exciting FLUX opening night I went off into the woods to regain some semblance of balance. I accidentally, although I recently met a young women who reminded me there are no accidents, came across an ice covered mountain stream with fast flowing water underneath. Of course I had my iPhone and couldn't resist capturing images. These are the raw material for the ice jellies! Who knew!? I love both the simplicity, which should never be confused with insignificant or unintelligent or elementary, and the surrender to the play of the creative process.

Here are a few raw untouched, unedited un-anything digital images.
In my dream time, which is not really sleep but not awake either, there has been a sustained dialogue about the anemones, the jellies and somasensory all floating together.

Something about not feeling love but being love - this was my dream time last week. Something about our bodily experience life.

Something about how the oceans connect us and that no one owns them but that we all share a responsibility for them.

Something about the benevolence of beauty and grace and the conscious energy which pervades all life. Something about a remembered intelligence.

Last night my dream time was of something about the jellies and their bioluminescence. Today I am leaning in close to hear the whispering from the depths of somewhere I've known but forgotten.

These are my studio musings as I begin work on this new series: ice jellies!
